Truth About God, The

When we know the truth about God we will trust Him, worship Him, love Him and desire Him. Fully knowing Him changes us. And fully knowing Him gives us eternal life. When we truly know Him He will be the most important thing in our lives, even more important than life itself.

John 17:3: And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Before I gave my heart to the Lord I had heard good things about Him but didn*t know them to be true experientially or really believe them. Since I received Jesus I have learned more fully and experienced these three things: The first is that God really is good. The second is that He really loves me. The third is that He unfailingly applies His good for my benefit.

Luke 18:19: And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.

1 John 3:1: Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

Romans 8:28: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Knowing that God is good, that He loves me and works everything for my good flavors everything differently for me now.

Satan would have us believe as the Israelites did and Adam and Eve did -- that God did not have our best interests in mind with his Commandments and rules. He would have us believe that God is a meany who makes up rules to restrict us, to unfairly punish us and make us miserable. Nothing could be further from the truth. Violating God*s laws harms us.
